Sustainability

Planet

Our work is guided by our vision and environmental policies, local laws, and by sustainability frameworks.

Based on our materiality assessment, we have identified the following as our most important environmental challenges.

  • Greenhouse gas emissions
  • Energy efficiency
  • Water management

When we look at environmental aspects, we focus on the sustainability impact we can have on our customers and in our own operations.

Our operations

The biggest impact we can have on sustainability is on farms. That impact starts in our own operations. Our company strategy outlines our ambition to reduce our environmental footprint both in product development and our own supply chain. We consider the whole value chain to ensure true change.

Our major goal here is to reduce our own emissions in line with the UN Paris Agreement on Climate Change. In 2024, we established a baseline of our greenhouse gas emissions based on 2022's figures. In 2025, we established our greenhouse gas pathway to reach net zero by 2050.

We measure all our data in CO2e (carbon equivalents).

Our impact on farms

Through our solutions in automation, digitalisation, and advisory services we can improve the efficiency of farm operations around the world and further increase animal welfare for our customers. This in turn leads to reduced cost and lower greenhouse gas emissions per litre of milk produced.

We have a dedicated team to ensure sustainability is a factor in any new product or service innovation, by focusing on CO2 emission reduction, reduction of water and waste as well as circularity. The team provides a common pathway towards a sustainable product offering.

We innovate to help farmers remain profitable whilst reducing their environmental impact and improving farm conditions for both humans and animals. Sustainably run farms are usually more profitable, with lower energy consumption, less accidents and animal illness.
