DeLaval ranks number one in DLG ImageBarometer in Germany for the 5th time in a row

Glinde, 1 March, 2022 – In the current ImageBarometer 2021/2022, DeLaval is able to defend its leadership in the field of animal husbandry technology and build on the success of previous years. In the annual survey by the German Agricultural Society (DLG), leading farmers are asked about awareness, benefits, preference and image of companies in the agricultural environment.

With a brand index of 44.44, DeLaval was able to maintain the high level from the previous year (41.45) and further increase its lead over competitors in the livestock technology category.

“In this challenging year of 2021, we are again pleased with the trust and appreciation of farmers and the good cooperation,” says Dr. Stephan Lais, Managing Director DeLaval GmbH. “In addition, we would like to express our warmest thanks to all employees as well as to all DeLaval dealers. Their strong customer focus and tireless efforts have again confirmed this outstanding position for us in the market last year.”

In the DLG’s annual survey, around 700 German farmers are interviewed by telephone regarding their brand perception in seven different categories: agricultural technology, animal husbandry technology, feed and operating resources (animal), agrochemicals and seeds, banks and insurance, trade and service providers, and renewable energies. The brand index calculated in this way is made up equally of the four sub-areas of brand image, brand knowledge, brand performance and brand loyalty. In total, a maximum score of 100 points can be achieved. As in the previous year, the survey period was moved to the end of the year. This meant that the end-of-year survey was also able to reflect the effects of manufacturers’ annual communications.
