Hamra Farm now available in virtual reality

Now farmers, journalists and other interested parties can experience the farm through a virtual reality film. Armed with a VR headset such as Google Cardboard  or  Samsung Gear VR, anyone can now get up close and personal with the automated milking and feeding operations at one of the world’s most innovative and progressive farms.

“Innovation has always been at the heart of our operations,” says Brian Rigley, Manager Online at DeLaval. “We work with that spirit of innovation within communications as well.  A virtual reality film seemed like the clear choice. Now we can take people to Hamra Farm, no matter where in the world they are. Virtual reality is a cutting edge technology just like the solutions we have at the farm. We also have a lot of requests to visit the farm and this way, we can take the farm to any interested parties and give them a truly immersive experience.”

By embracing 360 video, DeLaval clearly takes advantage of innovative (social) media technologies in the same way we do in our innovation pipeline for dairy farmers.

To enjoy the video at its best, we recommend seeing it through a virtual reality headset, however viewers can also enjoy the experience on a desktop or laptop. Smartphone or tablet users can also click on the link and simply move their device up, down, left and right to experience the scene.

If you are on a desktop or laptop*, you can view the video below. On a mobile or tablet device, the video is best viewed via the YouTube app**.
