The award ceremony brought together nearly 500 people at the Dutch Immigration Memorial in Castro, Brazil. The audience comprised authorities and other well-known faces within the Brazilian agribusiness.

Agroleite is the largest and best-known dairy farming exhibition in Brazil. The event is held annually in Castro, a city in the southern region of the country where the first DeLaval VMS™ in Latin America was installed.

Castro received many Dutch immigrants in the 1950s and their influences are still part of many aspects in the cultural, social and economic life of the city. One of these aspects is one the highest milk production levels in Brazil. There are numerous milk producers with large herds and farms in the area.

Agroleite 2014 took place over five days and was widely recognised for its emphasis on technology and innovation. Months before the fair began companies from across the agricultural market were invited to run for the Agroleite Trophy, the award for the best companies in the Brazilian agribusiness.
